Robotics Mastery Program (August - May)

NXT and RCX TRAINING FOR COMPETITION

LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT for Education offers a hands-on project-based learning approach to teaching science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) concepts in a fun and engaging way. LEGO MINDSTORMS helps prepare future generations of engineers and scientists as well as lifelong learners.

Goal: Introduce students to:

  • Programming mobile robots
  • Applying measurement and geometry to calculate robot navigation
  • Interpreting sensor feedback/calculating threshold values/understanding conditional statements, and etc.
  • Online quizzes at www.robotportal.net will be used to check students understanding of academic, technological, and applied mathematical concepts.

Robotics is our best selling program, and with good reason! Imagine it! Build and program robots using Lego wheels, gears, motors, and sensors. This hands-on and minds-on program will challenge the students imagination and creativity. Students will create simple to complex machines that move, turn, listen, flip, write, make sounds and play music. Robotics is a popular and effective way to teach programming, logical thinking, team work and project-based learning. Be inspired to use the most important part of the body the BRAIN!

Skills: Windows, robotics, programming, graphics, keyboard, and mouse. Lego Mindstorms NXT & RCX and Robolab.

Summer Camps

COMPUTER ROBOTICS PROGRAM

Double the Fun! Robotics 1 and 2 have been combined!

Imagine it! Build and program robots using Lego wheels, gears, motors, and sensors. This hands-on and minds-on camp will challenge the students imagination and creativity. Students will create simple to complex machines that move, turn, listen, flip, write, make sounds and play music. Robotics is a popular and effective way to teach programming, logical thinking, team work and project-based learning. Be inspired to use the most important part of the body the BRAIN!

Skills: MS-DOS, Windows, robotics, programming, graphics, keyboard, and mouse.

ADVANCED ROBOTICS CAMP

Advanced robotics offers a challenging summer experience. This camp will challenge the student imagination and creativity. Campers will build more complex machines and programs than in the Robotics I & 2 camp. The programming and feedback experiments enable students to form an in-depth understand of control technology and information transfer. Students will get a chance to check out the new NXT robotics kit and software. Students must have a working knowledge of Robotics 1&2.

Skills: ROBOLAB, Mindstorms, Robotics, Windows computer skills programming, and graphics.

Time & Dates: TBD (Contact Instructor)
